Excursions for schoolchildren, teenagers and students around Moscow

Initially, our historical excursions are designed for an adult audience, but we easily adapt our routes for schoolchildren: teenagers and middle school students. The bureau guides are also able to work with younger grades. I have experience in conducting quest tours, including in English.

The history and culture of Russia and Moscow, in particular, are relevant in the school curriculum at all times. This page presents several mini-reports from excursions for schoolchildren. You can also check out our complete excursion menu.

This unusual walk was a special request from the mother of Artyom, a student at a Moscow school. She asked us to make the route shorter and more child-friendly, as it was cold outside. The route took one and a half to two hours—the perfect amount of time for such a walk. Since the fall, the boy and his mother have been preparing a project on the theme "The Poet's Journey, the Christian's Journey," studying Pushkin's works, his correspondence with Philaret, and Christian motifs in his writings. They wanted to see places in Moscow related to this theme and take photographs for a presentation. The tour began at the Pushkin monument, where the guide spoke about the poet's biography, his connections to St. Petersburg and Moscow, and his life before 1826, when he received permission to live in Moscow after a conversation with Nicholas I at the Chudov Monastery. Guides Anton and Alexey set off with the MGIMO participants on buses. The individual route took the shortest route along Vernadsky Avenue, offering magnificent views of the capital. The guides shared interesting information about Moscow and its landmarks, such as Moscow State University and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. After disembarking at Vasilievsky Spusk, Masha and Nastya joined the guides, and the participants regrouped. Everyone was given headphones, and the organizers set a clear goal: be at the Kremlin's Kutafya Tower in an hour and a half so that the participants could attend the concert. Unfortunately, the tour began an hour later than scheduled, due to a delay caused by some participants. The group included many MGIMO students representing various regions, as well as guests from Transnistria and Armenia. Read more...

Today, Vika from Syzran and her mother, Olga, came on a personalized tour of Moscow. They had a request: to take a photo at the Moscow-City observation deck, see the Senate, where Vladimir Putin sits, and visit Zaryadye Park. The guide made it all happen, and the guests also had a wonderful photo shoot with a professional photographer. So, they focused on locations that offer beautiful photos. The tour participants and the guide also visited the Zaryadye Information Center, where numerous QR codes create a unique backdrop—perfect for photos. They also managed to capture the Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills), even though there were no planned exits there—they decided to pop out for five minutes to take a photo. They ended up with beautiful photos against the backdrop of the Moscow panorama and the main building of Moscow State University. Read more...

A children's tour, all seven years old, brought together eight young explorers, preschoolers from the same kindergarten. The mother of one of the participants, with whom our guide, Anastasia, had walked around Moscow in the spring on a semi-holiday tour in honor of her birthday, decided to organize another trip—this time for children. The theme was ghost hunting. In the Alexander Garden, the children enthusiastically searched for mystical stories. The young participants asked many questions and actively participated in the individual walk. The group then headed to the red fire and observed preparations for the May 9th celebrations. The young participants even sang a song in honor of the holiday. At the end of the tour, at the children's request, guide Nastya took them to a café on Nikolskaya Street, where they concluded their exciting adventure. Read more...

Have you ever traveled around the city with a small group of friends or family on a vintage double-decker bus? And not just ride along a standard route, but choose your own desired locations, starting and ending points, and stop durations? Our clients, for example, have had this opportunity. Perhaps we can repeat it. We conducted our first private tour of this type this week. After receiving a request for this unusual order, we arranged a time and location with a friend who drives a vintage double-decker bus. We chose a guide experienced with children, as three of the four guests were children of various ages. We quoted the price to the client. We bought tickets for the "Flight over Russia" ride and the funicular on Sparrow Hills (these locations were part of the order). Read more...

On Friday evening, we received a call from the Academy of the Ministry of Education. The client, Elena, asked if we could organize a city tour for… 180 students, schoolchildren, and their chaperones. I said we were ready. I spoke with Anton. We decided we would, especially since the organizer was providing buses, which was very convenient. Advantages of individual excursions over group ones

  • No one is in a hurry. Take a good look at the sights - they won't leave without you.
  • You hear everything the tour guide says.
  • There is less strain on your hearing and attention, since the guide is literally right next to you and speaks only for you.
  • All attention is on you. Answers to all your questions.
  • Without loud laughter and inappropriate jokes from other tour participants.
  • Opportunity to gain insight or exclusive information.
  • You don't have to get up early or come at an inconvenient time. You choose when.
  • A personal guide remembers you, and you remember him. Such moments remain in memory.
  • The excursion can be either educational or easy, depending on your wishes.
  • The opportunity to discuss personal impressions and emotions with the guide during the process.
  • An atmosphere of tranquility and privacy.
  • Possibility of adapting the route to your preferences and interests.
  • At individual excursion you dive deeper.
  • Take a break when needed - to rest or take photos.
  • Your photos will not be crowded with other participants.
  • The guide doesn't make stops at points of sale (at least we certainly don't).
  • We pay special attention to the places that interest you.
  • Possibility to visit places closed to large groups.
  • Absence of outside pressure.

How much more expensive are personal tours than mass tours?

If you are alone or in pairs, then a sum of several thousand for a walking tour of the city or twenty thousand for a car excursion is significant.

But if you're going for a walk with family or friends, the cost for an individual participant approaches one or two thousand - the amount that each person would pay for a group excursion with strangers.

For your group of 8 or more people, the price becomes even lower when calculated per person, making a private tour truly attractive.

***
A mass excursion is tourism, an individual excursion is a journey through the city’s secrets with a personal guide.

Excursions for schoolchildren, student excursions or excursions for high school students become more intense and personalized in an individual format.
