The beginning of the holidays. Several requests are received for excursions for schoolchildren, in foreign languages: English and German. The age of the guests is different, the level of knowledge of languages is also different.
We entrust one of these requests to our guide, Anastasia. Since she has a good knowledge of English and extensive experience in communicating with young tourists.
Task. 03/30/22 organize an excursion for a group of 20 English school students (grades 1-4) and 5 accompanying persons. The tour should be in accessible English, with the addition of quest elements.
Solution. We offer a tour route «Ghostbusters", in English adapted for primary school students. We think through the elements of the quest in advance. At the request of the customer, we shorten the duration of the excursion, and also think in advance where to take the guests if one of the students wants to eat or go to the toilet. It was important not to add information about any events incomprehensible to the excursion for children. So that the children do not get tired of the excursion, understand as much as possible and preferably remember at least something.
We calculate the cost of the excursion and send the customer an invoice and contract. We make mutually necessary corrections.
Then we discuss with the customer individual wishes and information for organizing the excursion, and send her the guide’s contact information.
On the specified date and time, the guide waited for a group of English school students at a pre-designated location near the Bolshoi Theatre. If during the tour she saw that the children did not understand her, she switched to simpler English, and briefly switched the story to Russian a couple of times. The children were pleased with the tour: they understood everything and — we hope — remembered what the story was about.
And we, in turn, have expanded our range of excursion routes with quest elements, and we will be happy to conduct them for you as well.
