Palace Dungeons
Individual tour of the legendary Moscow metro
Excursion to the most beautiful stations of the Moscow metro. A journey into the world of amazing underground palaces for everyday use. Stations on the route: “Revolution Square”, “Arbatskaya”, “Kievskaya”, “Belorusskaya”, “Novoslobodskaya”, “Komsomolskaya”, “Paveletskaya”, “Avtozavodskaya”, “Novokuznetskaya”, “Mayakovskaya”.
Background
A tour of the Moscow metro is a walk through the oldest metro in the country; it was inaugurated in 1935 and then consisted of only one line. You will see “Kievskaya” decorated with marble and decorated with mosaic panels, “Mayakovskaya” decorated in the Art Deco style, amazing stained glass windows and luxurious chandeliers of “Novoslobodskaya” and stucco moldings of “Komsomolskaya”.
The Moscow Metro is a real museum, which some people visit every day, but do not always pay attention to its enormous artistic value.
Let's meet
In front of the ground lobby of the Ploshchad Revolyutsii and Teatralnaya metro stations.

A third visit to Russia, language learning, and plans to move—that's how our personal tour began for Denisa, who is in love with Moscow and its culture. She had already been here last summer, and before that, in 2019, she visited St. Petersburg. This time, she arrived in January, six months after her last visit (photo report here), and judging by her passion for the Russian language and films, Moscow could become her future home. We were delighted that this charming foreigner chose us again, and we again provided her with Elena as her guide. The first day of the program included a stroll along Arbat Street, the city center, and an unforgettable flight over the city in Zaryadye Park. All transportation this time was by metro, for which we had previously purchased a three-day unlimited travel card for Denisa (incidentally, we had to repurchase it). Read more...

Today, we had another wonderful personalized sightseeing tour in English! Our guest had originally planned to travel by car, but ultimately decided it was best to explore the city on foot. The weather was favorable, and together with our guide, Maria, they set off from the Balchug Hotel to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Our guest was eager to ask questions, intrigued by Moscow's history and national events, including how and why the Kremlin was built. They discussed the interior of the monumental "House on the Embankment" and its development. As they passed it, our guide, Maria, hadn't yet had time to tell us about the building's tragic history, connected to the purges. Our guest expressed bewilderment at how such a "horrible" building could have been built amidst such beautiful architecture, including the Kremlin and the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Read more...

Yesterday, a private tour was held for guests from sunny Thailand. Tour guide Maria led a couple of young people on foot and by metro through Moscow's most interesting sights, starting from the Continental Hotel across from the English Club. The Thais' business partners from Rostelecom arranged with Anton, art director of Radius, to allow their colleagues from Southeast Asia to become acquainted with Russian culture and history. The participants showed a keen interest in our history, family relationships, and everyday life, asking many questions, including what we usually eat and what we eat more often—meat or chicken, what we buy and cook. From the hotel, the participants traveled to the Moscow metro, visiting the Tverskaya, Teatralnaya, Ploshchad Revolyutsii, and Arbatskaya stations. The guests were impressed by the beauty of the stations' interiors and the depth of their space, and they also wondered whether our stations could serve as refuge. Read more...

A young woman who came to Moscow from Romania lives in the small town of Kraevo in the south of the country. She is a dental implantologist by profession. She has many years of training behind her: six years at university and another five years in the surgical department. She specializes exclusively in constructing bridges in jaws, to which implants are then attached, while her colleagues handle the rest of the work. Her own dental clinic is not just a business, but the result of her hard work and skill. By all accounts, she is successful and works hard. She lives in a house near Kraevo, which she reaches in half an hour. She also has a cozy place in Zanzibar, which she calls her dacha. Our guest came to Moscow to improve her qualifications. This is her second visit to Russia: her first was to St. Petersburg. Read more...

Today, a group of tourists from Almaty took a private tour. They were eager to see the most popular, interesting, and historically significant stations of the Moscow Metro in addition to the main sightseeing program by car. First, the guests toured the capital's most important sites by minivan: they traditionally visited Red Square, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, St. Basil's Cathedral, Vorobyovy Gory and the Holy Trinity Church, the Poklonnaya Gora Memorial Complex, and Moscow-City. Then, the group and their guide returned to the center and descended into the Moscow Metro. The first station we visited was Revolution Square, as it could be called a museum of sculptures located directly underground. Stalin himself is known to have approved of these sculptures, saying they were almost lifelike. Read more...

The next day, the German ladies not only rode the car but also the metro, exploring the beautiful stations, and then strolled along Arbat. The guests were impressed by Melnikov's house and liked the Tsoi wall. Next, the group visited the Mausoleum, took photos at the Necropolis along the Kremlin wall, and, after driving, walked through Shmelyovsky Square near the Inspiration fountain to the Tretyakov Gallery. At the gallery, the foreign guests were impressed by the painting "The Appearance of Christ to the People," which, when viewed closely, includes those viewing the canvas—as was originally intended by the artist Ivanov. The young ladies also lingered by Kukirev's "Unequal Marriage" and Kuindzhi's paintings featuring a 3D effect, which the artist created by scratching through layers of paint. Read more...

We had a corporate group of 10 people. Our guide was Anton, and we had a tour of Bulgakov. I would like to point out the excellent organization; everything went smoothly. The managers were very accommodating to our changes in the number of participants. The bus was very comfortable. Anton is a super-engaged and motivated guide.
He lives this story and takes great pleasure in sharing his knowledge and creating impressions.
Everything went well. I recommend it!

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. I will gladly share and will be glad to have a new opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to the Director for the Bureau
Note: excursion “Heart of the capital"for participants of the Moscow Oncology Forum 2025. Guides – Anastasia and Maria
