How we developed a route for the Rodina Park residential complex in the Mozhaisk district and conducted a series of tours for the developer's employees and clients.
A custom route for the Rodina Park residential complex
In the summer and fall of 2025, our bureau organized and conducted a series of excursions for the developer "Rodina".
Three original routes were developed for the project, each linked to a specific residential complex and its surroundings.
This article tells the story of a walking tour programme created for the Rodina Park residential complex in Moscow’s Mozhaisky District.
This area required special preparation: the route was created from scratch, through a visit to the site and a detailed study of the territory.
How the route was arranged
The tour began at the sales office and, step by step, uncovered the historical layer of this part of the city through the dacha culture of Kuntsevo. Before its incorporation into Moscow in 1960, it was a prestigious suburban area, and it was from this context that the guide introduced the participants to the area.
On the walking route, participants were shown the dacha of the Filippov dynasty, famous Moscow bakers.
A separate point was the wooden dacha of the banker Juncker, where Lenin visited.
The program also included preserved pre-revolutionary buildings, which help to demonstrate how the original scale of the site and its historical environment can still be seen here.
Natural context of the area
The route then moved into a natural context, and this was a fundamental part of the excursion.
The group was led through the Kozlovsky forest with art objects.
Then the participants went out to the Setun River valley.
Another important part of the route was the eco-trail from the Davydkovo metro station.
The route was looped and eventually returned to the sales office, where the tour began.
What did this tour show?
The program's main goal was to showcase the Mozhaisk district's unexpected side: not only its residential development, but also the history, nature, and atmosphere that shape the location's value.
That's why this individual route was designed so that participants would see the area not in fragments, but as a holistic urban environment, where the dacha history of Kuntsevo, pre-revolutionary houses, forest, the Setun Valley, and new residential projects coexist.
This authorial format allowed us to take a fresh look at this part of Moscow and at those streets and spaces that in everyday life are often perceived only as the backdrop of a residential area.
