Individual tour of VDNKh (VVC) in Moscow
In and around the territory of the Exhibition of Achievements of the Soviet Union. Cognitive immersion into the world of communist utopia. On the route: the rocket monument "To the Conquerors of Space" and the Cosmonauts' Alley, the central entrance arch, the "Friendship of Peoples" and "Stone Flower" fountains, the pavilions of the Union Republics (we go inside the Azerbaijan and Belarus pavilions), Industry Square, Technograd, the Northern Entrance arch, Montreal Pavilion, the legendary statue “Worker and Collective Farm Woman” and finally we admire the Light Show over the Model of Moscow.
Background
The VDNH complex was a city of dreams. It was located on an area of 136 hectares, where pavilions were located, reflecting the achievements of individual branches of agriculture and entire republics, as well as parks, monuments and experimental sites. From the Northern entrance, guests are greeted by the sculpture “Worker and Collective Farm Woman,” which is called the ideal and symbol of the Soviet era. From here, the Alley of Cosmonauts with the monument to the “Conquerors of Space” leads to the Southern Entrance - this is the second tallest sculptural composition in the capital. At the end of your walk around VDNKh, you can visit the lighting show in the “Moscow Model” pavilion.
A tour of VDNKh is an opportunity to walk around the reserve of the Soviet Union, remember how “it” was and, perhaps, once again reflect on the topic of how “it could have been”.

The second day of our individual program took place at VDNKh. Our guest had been there before, but was so impressed by the place that she wanted to return. The guide picked her up from her hotel, and they took the metro to the exhibition complex. The tour, in English, began with a tour of the national pavilions. Our guest showed particular interest in Central Asia and purchased food, cosmetics, and small souvenirs. A year ago, we organized a drinking excursion for Yandex near Moscow State University. Today, we're summing up our collaboration with the IT giant and their "Summer Together" project this year. As part of the corporate event, Yandex employees were immersed in our bureau's fascinating city tours every week. On Saturdays, six individual groups embarked on a journey through Moscow's cultural attractions, accompanied not only by guides but also by curators who assisted with organizational matters and assessed the guests' impressions. A young woman who came to Moscow from Romania lives in the small town of Kraevo in the south of the country. She is a dental implantologist by profession. On the first day of summer, guests from China arrived in Moscow to take a guided tour of the city and learn many new and interesting things about the capital. The tour was conducted using radio guides: Elena spoke into a microphone, and the guests heard her voice through headphones. The guide was also assisted by a translator, who explained any confusing points. The guests were eager to have Radius staff show them around the capital, so they agreed to have the tour translated into English. A family from Nizhny Novgorod with two children flew to Moscow by helicopter, and a guide met them at the Reutov Heliport. The helicopter kicked up a snowstorm, making it difficult to film—the snow was blowing in their faces. The couple had flown to Moscow for a few hours individually to visit the exhibition in the "Regions of Russia" pavilion at VDNKh. The daughters had seen an advertisement for the exhibition on TV and were thrilled. The exhibition had two halls. "Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
