Along the lanes of Kitay-Gorod. The excursion involves getting to know the central, but least visited by tourists, part of the center, where the atmosphere of pre-revolutionary Moscow still reigns. On the route: quiet lanes and courtyards in the area of Ivanovo Hill, Ivanovsky Monastery, Lutheran Cathedral of Peter and Paul, Mazepa's chambers, Baron Knop's castle, the White City Wall, Pokrovsky Boulevard, Levitan's Saraichik, Morozova's Mansion, Khokhlovka, Khitrovka.

Moscow! Big, noisy and dazzling. When you get into it for the first time, you get lost and don’t know where to look. Excursions help in historical and cultural terms. Of course, Moscow cannot be known immediately. Gradually, slowly, looking at the details and remembering the details is the right way. Moscow needs to breathe, taste it, take its steps, and then it will reveal amazing secrets to the inquisitive traveler.
But one way or another, the history of Moscow cannot be understood without the history of Kitay-Gorod, which arose as a fortified area for the city that expanded beyond the Kremlin during the reign of Elena Glinskaya, mother of Ivan the Terrible. It is worth mentioning to begin with that Russian book printing took shape here, and the Russian stock exchange also grows from here. In a cultural and historical sense, this small area is a great reserve of serf architecture.
During the tour of Kitay-gorod, we will wander through the cozy web of streets and alleys, temples, ancient chambers, a monastery-prison, estates and residential buildings built here over several centuries, and try to restore the five-century chronicle of the area.

We previously conducted a series of tours for Russian Railways (RZD) around Moscow City. This time, we took railway workers through the alleys of Kitay-Gorod as part of the "Soul of Moscow" route. Since there were over 240 participants, we divided them into 16 groups: four per day. After receiving the request, we sent the client a contract, coordinated it with a Russian Railways lawyer, and issued an invoice. "Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
