This is the second time I've been walking and wandering around Moscow with the private excursion bureau Radius. The founder, native Muscovite Anton Latynin, a theater and art critic, leads the excursions himself and out of love.

"Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).

Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:

The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.

Were at excursions "Architecture "Moscow style". The bureau advertised its non-standard approach and deep immersion, the reviews were not bad. And overall nothing happened. A walk through the center of Moscow in the company of loved ones on a warm summer evening is always pleasant. Moreover, there were some really interesting and unexpected objects along the route (we won’t spoil it).

BUT! The expected delight, fueled by the advertising of "Radius", did not happen at all. Our tour guide was a nice girl, with a very literate speech by modern standards. At the very beginning, she said that she very rarely leads excursions - she mainly writes texts, because she works as a research assistant in the gallery. Actually, that said it all. Here all questions are clearly for the organizers and managers of "Radius".

A good excursion with deep immersion, especially one that is not cheap, requires a great guide. Which will sprinkle pearls and easily capture your attention. Or at least know more than what is written in the text of the excursion. And he will be able to maintain a dialogue on related topics if the guests turn out to be a little erudite. In long transitions between points it would be interesting to listen to lyrical digressions.

On the section of the route on Sadovoye, I really wanted to quickly find the first microphone I came across for the guide—she could only shout to two people standing in the immediate vicinity.

In general, we had a good time, but expectations did not coincide with reality. It's a bit of a shame, because it's a birthday present after all.
