On a Moscow street PrechistenkaOn one of those rainy evenings when it seems the sky has decided to wash away all the city's sins, something truly incredible happened. However, such stories happen often in Moscow—you just have to look closely.
Vladimir Mayakovsky He left the editorial office with a volume of his poetry under his arm when his gaze suddenly caught the eye of a young student from Novosibirsk. She had apparently gotten lost among the luxurious mansions of Prechistenka and didn't know how to get back to her dorm. Seeing her confused expression, Mayakovsky decided to help. Besides, he had a flask of cognac conveniently tucked away in his pocket, which is known to foster inspiration and friendship.
"Let me treat you to this noble drink," Vladimir offered, smiling affably. "In Moscow, you know, when it's raining, it's best to warm yourself from the inside out."
The girl, introducing herself as Olga, gratefully accepted the offer. They settled on a bench under a spreading linden tree, where Mayakovsky began telling her about life in Moscow, his poetic quest, and how good it is sometimes to simply stop and look at the world around him. Olga, listening to his velvety voice, felt her anxiety melt away.
"Did you know that Tolstoy and Gogol once lived on Prechistenka?" she asked unexpectedly, deciding to keep the conversation going.
"I know," Mayakovsky replied, "but, alas, they didn't leave us any secret recipes for how to avoid getting lost in Moscow. But they did leave us their books, which help us avoid getting lost in life."
They sat and talked for a long time until the rain subsided. Olga finally dared to ask:
— How do you write such beautiful poems?
"I'm just looking at life," the poet replied with a sly wink. "And sometimes, you know, a little cognac wouldn't hurt."
When they finally got up to go their separate ways, Vladimir unexpectedly handed her his volume of poetry.
"This is for you, as a souvenir of our little Moscow adventure. Let it remind you that poetry isn't just rhymes, but also an encounter with something real."
Olga, touched, thanked him and disappeared into the evening haze. Mayakovsky remained on Prechistenka, reflecting on how the destinies of people living in the same big city can sometimes be surprisingly intertwined.

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. I will gladly share and will be glad to have a new opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to the Director for the Bureau

"Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
