In the heart of Moscow, where historic buildings line the streets like delicate brushstrokes on a canvas, a dispute once erupted that was as bitter as it was pointless. Gostiny Dvor, among the majestic columns and vaults, where commercial life had been in full swing since the 18th century, two masters of their craft met: an official whose name was hidden behind a veil of secrecy, and a merchant known in narrow circles as Ivan Alexandrovich.
The day was overcast, as if the sky had decided to dress in a grey suit so as not to stand out against the marble walls. The official, nervously tapping his fingers on the ancient wood of the table, began a conversation about what seemed to be an eternal topic – women. The embezzler, as he was called behind his back, had his own special opinion, full of cynicism and sarcasm, which suited him like a brush suits an artist.
"A woman," he began, leaning back in his chair, "is like a machine with an infinite number of functions. But what does she need legs for if she still stands in one place?" The merchant, a more down-to-earth man and infinitely devoted to the art of trade, could not leave this unanswered. His face, usually as imperturbable as the surface of a lake on a calm day, was distorted with indignation.
"Sir, you forget that without legs, as without art, it is impossible to move forward. Women are not just machines, but works of art, each with her own character and history. Have you ever seen a sculpture move? No, but its greatness lies in the fact that it inspires!" Ivan Alexandrovich answered, the gleam of confidence in his eyes was like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds.
The official, unaccustomed to such a vivid confrontation, frowned. He felt his arguments crashing against the walls of logic, like waves against the shore. In Gostiny Dvor, where every corner breathes history, their dispute became not just a conversation, but a real battle of wits, like a duel on the canvas of a great master.
And as their words echoed through the vaults, passersby seemed to feel the air around them fill with electricity. Some chuckled, some nodded in agreement, and some simply stopped to enjoy this theater of life.
But, as always happens in such stories, neither side gave in. The official left, grumbling under his breath, and the merchant, smiling to himself, returned to his business. The Gostiny Dvor, as befits a great work of art, remained untouched, continuing to hold secrets and disputes that will live forever.

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. I will gladly share and will be glad to have a new opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to the Director for the Bureau

"Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
