Background
While St. Petersburg was the place of life for most of the nobles, Moscow became a truly merchant city, and it is to the capital’s merchants that we owe many churches, roads, factories, factories, bridges, banks, exchanges and the fact that Moscow was and remains one of the most beautiful cities peace.
During the excursion we will try to evaluate the contribution of outstanding representatives of the merchant class to the development of the country and the city. Let's talk about the business successes of the clever Varangians in the trade and industrial affairs of the mother throne. A separate main theme of the program is charitable endeavors of business people. In the first part of the program you will take a walk through the Kitay-Gorod area - the main business district of Moscow until 1917. The second half of the excursion will take place in Zamoskvorechye - the favorite place of residence of the Moscow merchants.

Anton Latynin Moscow expert, theater and literary critic, author and leader of dozens of thematic excursions around Moscow in Russian, German and English. The "Business People" tour became an opportunity to reunite old friends from different cities. Friends from Moscow and St. Petersburg met right on the tour and, together with the guide, set out to learn stories about the lives of the capital's merchants. The guests proved to be very attentive listeners, asking many questions and inquiring about the details of the merchants' daily lives. The tour participants became such close friends with the guide that they didn't want to let her go. Together, they took many memorable photos and even sang the Moscow national anthem. The walking tour was heartfelt and enjoyable, and the guests especially enjoyed learning many fascinating facts about Moscow's merchant class. We conducted a tour of Moscow as part of a corporate event for UniCredit Bank. The group consisted of young employees working in the bank's offices with individuals. The choice was between "Hot Spots" and "Business People," and we settled on the latter. At the client's request, the corporate tour needed to have some interactive elements; informative, but not run-of-the-mill. The guide, Elena, did her best to engage the group in conversation: she shared interesting historical facts, asked questions, and listened attentively to the answers. The tour was conducted in a conversational format, accompanied by cheerful jokes from the satisfied participants. Even the weather that day was favorable: despite forecast rain, the day was clear and windless. A few words about regular tourists on historical walks around the capital
For almost a year, we've been running minibus tours of Moscow for a large government organization. The service began with a request just before New Year's and has continued successfully to this day. Initially, these were almost monthly groups of up to 18 people in a Sprinter. Now, we rent a bus for new city tours, as the number of employees who want a cultural ride keeps growing. It goes like this: Once a month, we receive tour requests. We develop a route that might appeal to the client. We offer options from our existing tour menu, but we also create something new to suit the client. We write a description and send it to the client. Once approved, we invoice. We organize the tour. What we personally missed: we would have liked more of a historical section related to ancient Moscow and the history of Kitay-gorod. There were quite a few stories about the Soviet period and bar life, but for our group, it wasn't very relevant. We think the program could have been more tailored to the age and interests of the group.
It would also have been interesting to add more historical facts, monuments, and details about old Moscow and the area itself. That said, the tour was still interesting, and some places and churches were truly memorable. These aren't really "cons," but rather suggestions for an even more comprehensive program.
We had a corporate group of 10 people. Our guide was Anton, and we had a tour of Bulgakov. I would like to point out the excellent organization; everything went smoothly. The managers were very accommodating to our changes in the number of participants. The bus was very comfortable. Anton is a super-engaged and motivated guide.
He lives this story and takes great pleasure in sharing his knowledge and creating impressions.
