Organizing a tour for the opening of a UNIQLO store on Arbat

Task. Develop a mini tour of Novy Arbat next to the new UNIQLO store for fashion journalists.

5 rounds of 20 minutes, 5 people each, with an interval of 2 hours. 

Each tour should be filled with interesting information about architecture, fashion and culture.  

Solution. We developed a script:

  1. Meeting point "Prague". The restaurant is like Arbat in miniature: a favorite meeting place for the elite of the Silver Age 1900-10s; Model canteen of Mosselprom 1920s; closed dining room for NKVD employees 1930-50s; exemplary restaurant of the Union 1960-80s; Telman Ismailov's farm 1990 - 2000... Searches for a new
    life and grandiose plans: the largest food court in Moscow. And around the corner
    UNIQLO.
  2. Invitation to a tour for the opening of a UNIQLO store on Arbat Movement along the old Arbat. The meaning of the name + a brief history of the area and the characteristics of street retail in pre-revolutionary Moscow.
  3. The first pedestrian street in the country. Arbat as a brand. How the street has changed over 30
    years of its pedestrian existence.
  4. Eclectic architecture of Arbat. Classic, modern, constructivism and gothic,
    adjacent to each other.
  5. A. Losev's house on Arbat. The last idealist in the country of materialists. Fashionable
    philosopher of the 20th century + Vakhtangov Fashion Theater. The eccentric princess Turandot

  12. Festival traditions of New Arbat. Parade procession for the anniversary of Moscow 850, St. Patrick's Day.
  13. Reboot of Arbat in 2016 - the return of Broadway.
  14. The new center of attraction on Novy Arbat is the UNIQLO store (the first Moscow store of the legendary brand in the street retail format)

The customer approved the script. Excursion tours were carried out (at the highest level - the customer strengthened the group with two beautiful girls-hostesses). The customer and guests are happy, Uniklo is opened beautifully and stylishly.

  3. This isn't my first time with Radius. This time, I took the Moscow metro . The goal was not only to admire the underground palaces but also to learn how to navigate the metro. As a resident of a region without a metro, I was a bit apprehensive and didn't understand how to navigate the metro. Of course, the internet helps, but live communication is much better. Tour guide Yulia handled this task perfectly. The information was accessible and interesting, the presentation was calm, and the communication style was very friendly.   5. Overall, the tour left a positive impression! Thanks to Alexander for the walk through the courtyards and atmospheric spots of Kitay-Gorod; we certainly wouldn't have done it on our own. The tour was comfortable, and the guide spoke confidently and calmly. One thing we personally missed: we would have liked more of the historical part, relating to ancient Moscow and the history of Kitay-Gorod. There were quite a few stories about the Soviet period and the bar scene, but for our group, this wasn't particularly relevant. We think the program could be a little more tailored to the age and interests of the group. It would also have been interesting to add more historical facts, monuments, and details about old Moscow and the area itself. That said, the tour was still interesting, and some places and churches were truly memorable. These aren't really "cons," but rather suggestions for an even more comprehensive program.
