Three-day excursion tour for guests from England to the Kremlin, the capital's metro and VDNKh
We receive a request for three excursions for two guests from England: Diana and Miso. Diana is half Georgian, a former Muscovite, and has been successfully living in London for 17 years. Miso is her friend, an Englishman, who has never been to Moscow before. Diana sometimes comes to Moscow to visit her mother, but she has not been everywhere here and does not remember much, so she decided to introduce her friend to the capital by contacting us.
We chose a free English-speaking guide from our team, received an advance payment from the customer, decided on the theme, and on the appointed day, Miso and Diana began their multi-day excursion trip with us in English.
Since Miso had never been to Moscow before, we decided to start from the center itself. On the first day, the guide took the tourists to the Kremlin, the Armory, and then walked a little around the city.
The customers were impressed, but the guest from England was most delighted with Moscow metro tour, scheduled for the second day. More precisely, he was initially skeptical about the Moscow metro, believing there was nothing to see. But he was ultimately delighted by how diverse and elegant the Moscow metro stations are. He was surprised that they weren't as deep as London stations. He remarked that Muscovites descend into the metro on a single escalator, while theirs is three tiers deep. He was intrigued to learn that many Moscow stations feature beautiful natural stones in their interiors. Miso repeatedly asked the guide, "Does each metro station really have its own design?" and kept repeating, "Amazing!" The guide happily answered all of the foreigner's questions and showed Diana and Miso both Soviet-era stations and modern ones like CSKA and others. The Englishman said he was pleasantly surprised, of course, since London stations are mostly plastic and lacking in ornamentation, while the Moscow metro features stone mosaics, statues, paintings, chandeliers, and stucco. We're not exaggerating when we say the guest couldn't get enough of this beauty.
On the third day of individual excursions, it was decided to take Diana and Miso to VDNKh. The exhibition impressed both Miso and Diana, since she, a former Muscovite, had never been to VDNKh before. The guide took the foreigners to the Armenian pavilion, where she told them about national dishes, which were included in the UNESCO intangible heritage in 2014.
By the way, it is worth mentioning that in 2023, personal guide Elena was among the finalists in the nomination "Tour Guides" of the largest competition for professionals "Moscow Masters" with a project of a gastronomic excursion around VDNKh. VDNKh itself has been very powerfully transformed and flourishing since 2014, you need to walk there for several days to see and try everything.
Then the guide and tourists went to an eastern teahouse and restaurant in Uzbekistan. We finished our viewing at the USSR fast food stall and tried donuts prepared according to old recipes. It turned out to be a kind of gastronomic tour of VDNKh.
At the end of the route, the guide led the foreign couple to a model of Moscow, where Diana began to look for the house where she lived before moving to England.
