Verbal duel within the walls of the Metropol

The autumn morning in Moscow was particularly gloomy. Low clouds hung over the roof hotel "Metropol", as if trying to hide its exquisite architecture from the eyes of passers-by. Inside, in one of the luxurious rooms, tense negotiations were taking place between two prominent figures - Pavel Tretyakov and Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Tretyakov, a famous collector and patron of the arts, was well known for his passion for art. Dostoevsky, in turn, was the embodiment of literary genius and profound philosophy. The meeting at the Metropol was supposed to be the beginning of a new project, but something went wrong.

The conversation began peacefully, but soon escalated into a heated argument about the importance of architecture in literature. Tretyakov insisted that architecture could inspire, but Dostoevsky, in his style, believed that the walls of buildings only limited freedom of thought.

"You, old damn pessimist!" exclaimed Tretyakov, rising from the table in a fit of anger. "How can you say that when these walls have seen so many stories, so many destinies?"

Dostoevsky merely chuckled in response, his eyes glittering with a cold light: "Walls are just walls, Pavel. They have no soul, they are created by people, not the other way around."

Their dialogue, full of tension and mutual accusations, continued until the evening, when the lamps of the Metropol began to cast long shadows on the carpets. In the end, they came to a mutual agreement - each of them remained with his own opinion, but respect for each other did not fade.

As they left the hotel, both men were lost in their thoughts. The wind had finally dispersed the clouds, and the moonlight was reflected in the windows of the buildings. These silent witnesses to a thousand stories seemed to hold secrets that would never be revealed.
