The excursionists came from the Kemerovo Region to visit their daughter and grandchildren who live on Nikolina Gora in the Moscow region. This area is home to a writers' village. Sergei Mikhalkov (the author of the national anthem and father of Nikita Sergeyevich) once had a dacha here. According to the couple, they have three grandchildren, one of whom had an equestrian competition planned the day before, which significantly impacted the speed of their arrival. The elderly couple hadn't been to Moscow for over 40 years and asked our guide for a private tour of the city's landmarks. A tour of the Kremlin, the Alexander Garden, and Red SquareDuring the tour, the excursionists grew hungry, leading to lunch at GUM's Festival Café and Gastronom No. 1. The guests weren't heavy drinkers, but Nadezhda Alekseyevna decided to relive the taste of Soviet beer. For the most part, the guided tour was relaxed and personalized, as Elena, the couple's guide, was guided by their preferences and improvised as they went along.
