One of those grey Moscow days, when the sky was covered with leaden clouds and the wind, like an ancient spirit, walked through the streets, Vsevolod Meyerhold headed into the depths ElectrozavodThis place, symbolizing the Soviet industrialization of the 1920s and 1930s, seemed the complete opposite of a theater stage, but it was here that Vsevolod found inspiration for new productions. The steel structures, the hum of machinery, and the smell of oil created an atmosphere in which new ideas were born.
However, fate had other plans that day. As if out of nowhere, a cold appeared, accented by a light Moscow rain. Meyerhold, unaccustomed to such a treacherous change in weather, felt the chill creep through his coat, forcing him to ponder the fate of art in this harsh industrial world.
But what if Catherine the Great herself, the empress renowned for her reformist spirit, had found herself in Meyerhold's shoes? Imagine her, in all her majesty and austerity, strolling through the factory's workshops, examining complex mechanisms as if they were works of art. Perhaps her reformist nature would have found in industrialization the very potential she sought to unleash in her subjects. And, of course, she wouldn't have let a cold derail her plans.
But let's return to our hero. A cold, like a malicious director, intervened in the course of events, and Vsevolod, instead of creating, found himself ensconced in a warm blanket and raspberry tea. Images of Catherine strolling through the factory as if it were her palace flashed through his mind, and thoughts of how she would have dealt with this misfortune.
At that moment, Vsevolod realized that art, like industry, requires resilience and adaptation. The cold that had become part of his daily life wasn't an obstacle, but merely a new stage on which he continued to play his role. And although Ekaterina never set foot in the Elektrozavod, her spirit of reform lived in every sound and movement of the place.
That evening, when his cold had subsided and his thoughts had cleared, Meyerhold wrote down his ideas, inspired by this strange meeting of eras and places, and went on, confident that even a cold could become a source of inspiration.

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. I will gladly share and will be glad to have a new opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to the Director for the Bureau

"Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
