One wonderful spring day, when Moscow was incredibly beautiful and a light breeze played with the first leaves on the trees, Mikhail Bulgakov and Leo Tolstoy decided to meet. Not in their usual setting, but in the very heart of the Moscow metro - on Paveletskaya metro station.
Bulgakov, known for his mystical stories, was sure that the metro concealed more secrets than might seem at first glance. Tolstoy, with his love of nature and philosophical reflections, was skeptical. "Let's go, Mikhail, into the forest," he suggested, but Bulgakov insisted.
At Paveletskaya station, among marble columns and antique chandeliers, Bulgakov and Tolstoy unexpectedly discovered a door that seemed to lead to nowhere. Tolstoy laughed, remembering his walks through the forests of Yasnaya Polyana. “But this, Mikhail, is like in your books – everything is not as it seems,” he noted.
Suddenly the door swung open and a forest clearing opened up before them. Tolstoy was amazed – it seemed as if they had been transported to another dimension. Bulgakov only chuckled: “You never know what’s waiting for you around the corner, right?”
Cheerful and inspired, the writers went deep into the mysterious forest, discussing their works and philosophical ideas. Soon they came across an old hut that looked as if forest spirits lived in it. “Like in a fairy tale,” Bulgakov said with a wink.
Time flew by, and soon they realized it was time to go back. The forest quietly whispered goodbye, and when they found themselves back at Paveletskaya station, Tolstoy said thoughtfully: "I think I've begun to understand your love for mysticism."
Thus ended their unusual adventure, which left a warm trace in the writers' memories and many new ideas for future works. They left the station, still discussing their experiences, like two boys who had returned from a mysterious journey.
