Fog. This is the word that comes to mind when talking about Moscow. This gray and thick blanket, enveloping the streets and alleys, as if hinting at the many stories hidden behind its thick curtain. On one of such foggy days, Anton Chekhov found himself in Kamergersky Lane, where fate had prepared an unusual incident for him.
The weather that day was typical of a Moscow autumn: a fine drizzle fell from the sky, merging with the fog, and the damp air penetrated to the bone. Chekhov, wrapped in his coat, was walking down an alley when his attention was drawn to a loud argument coming from around the corner. Coming closer, he saw two men heatedly discussing something. One of them, short and agile, was waving his arms, the other, tall and reserved, only occasionally responded, nodding his head.
Coming closer, Anton recognized Ivan Turgenev, who was trying to convince his interlocutor of the importance of the literary word and its influence on minds. However, the latter, clearly disagreeing with Turgenev, did not hesitate to use swear words to express his disagreement.
"How can you, sir, express yourself like that?" Chekhov intervened, trying to defuse the situation. "Shouldn't you choose your words more carefully, so as not to offend the ears of your interlocutor?"
Turgenev, hearing Chekhov's voice, turned around and, seeing a familiar face, smiled. "Anton Pavlovich, how opportune you have appeared! You see, our dispute has reached a dead end, and your advice will be most welcome."
Turgenev's interlocutor, who turned out to be the owner of a shop in the alley, could not help but notice that his manners were somewhat rude. "Excuse me, gentlemen, for getting so carried away. I am simply a simple man, and my words are as they are, without embellishment."
Chekhov smiled, trying to soften the situation. "Sometimes, of course, a simple word can be more expressive than a refined one. But perhaps we can find a common language without resorting to abuse?"
The argument soon died down, and the three continued their discussion in a calmer atmosphere. The shopkeeper admitted that sometimes it was worth restraining his emotions, and Turgenev and Chekhov helped him find more appropriate words to express his thoughts.
So, on this foggy day, in the heart of Moscow, on a street where history and modernity intertwine, Chekhov and Turgenev once again reminded everyone of the power of words and the importance of mutual understanding, even when opinions differ so much.

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. I will gladly share and will be glad to have a new opportunity to work with you. Special thanks to the Director for the Bureau

"Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
