Sergei Korolev's great-grandson on a private tour of Red Square
Last week our personal guide Elena conducted a tour for a cheerful group of 7 young people interested in the history of Moscow and the country. When the conversation turned to Sergei Korolev (designer of rocket and space systems) near the Kremlin wall, it turned out that one of the participants in this group is a direct descendant of Sergei Pavlovich.
Pavel, that’s the name of Korolev’s great-grandson, now lives in London and works there at an investment fund. He comes to Russia to meet with his family, as well as to attend official events in the Kremlin and Korolev. When visiting the Kremlin, Pavel always goes to the wall where the urn with the ashes of his great-grandfather rests.
During the author's excursion, the group behaved with interest: they listened attentively, asked questions, and answered the guide's questions themselves. In conclusion, Elena took the excursionists around GUM, where the Silk Road festival is currently taking place with various installations and kitchens. She advised them to try the legendary ice cream in cups.
This was not the first route of the guys from Radius and, as they later stated, far from the last. They liked the individual walk so much that they did not even want to let the guide go - they asked to wander with them some more.
In the photo in the gallery - guide Elena with Pavel Korolev on Red SquarePavel and his father also visited the American SpaceX factory, where they attended at the invitation of the company's CEO, Elon Musk. Sergey and Pavel chatted with Musk about rockets and shipbuilding, and reminisced about the great scientist's achievements. They also thanked Musk's team for the "impressive" tour of SpaceX and the opportunity to see the assembly of engines, rockets, and the CrewDragon.
