Today Moscow is bustling and crowded as usual, and the sky, covered with clouds, promises rain. Hotel "Metropol", majestically rising in the center of the city, became the meeting place of two completely different people, whose destinies intertwined on this significant day.
Vladimir Mayakovsky, the famous poet whose poems celebrated the revolution and its ideals, entered the hotel lobby with characteristic energy and determination. He was irritated, due to the bustle of preparations for his own birthday, which he intended to celebrate in style. However, his thoughts were not only occupied by personal experiences; a new poetic work loomed on the horizon, requiring his full concentration.
At the same time, at the other end of the hall, in the semi-darkness of a secluded table, sat an official, notorious for his passion for embezzlement. Worried about possible exposure, he carefully went over his connections and plans in his mind. Irritation and anxiety were visible on his face - today was his birthday, but thoughts about the holiday retreated in the face of the threat of exposure.
They met by chance when Mayakovsky, in search of inspiration, went to the window to admire the view of Moscow in the evening. The irony of fate led to them talking. The poet, in his usual manner, began talking about the importance of honesty and justice, about how important it is to live according to one's conscience, without suspecting with whom he was talking. The official, hearing these words, felt uncomfortable, as if his inner world had been turned inside out.
Mayakovsky, without waiting for an answer, soon left, leaving the official in thought. It began to drizzle outside, and Vladimir, turning up the collar of his raincoat, headed to the nearest cafe to drink a cup of strong coffee and continue to think about his poems.
The official remained seated, pondering the poet's words. He suddenly realized that it was time for a change, and that his life had to change. That evening, in the hall of the Metropol Hotel, he made a decision that would soon change his destiny.
So, in one of Moscow’s majestic halls, to the sounds of dripping rain, two completely different people, each in their own way, took a step towards change.
