One late autumn evening in the very heart of Moscow on Hotel National An unusual scene unfolded. The howling wind swirled fallen leaves along Tverskaya Street, and passersby, bundled in coats, hurried to shelter from the cold. At that very moment, in one of the hotel's luxurious rooms, two remarkable men sat at a round table— Joseph Stalin and Catherine the Great.
The light from the crystal chandelier, reflected in the mirrors, illuminated their faces. Stalin, his usual pipe in hand, listened attentively to Catherine, who, without losing her regal bearing, recounted her reforms and the intrigues of the imperial court. She seemed unsurprised by her journey through the centuries and, as always, kept the situation under control.
"Great deeds require great sacrifices," the empress remarked with a sly twinkle in her eye, leaning back in her chair. Stalin, lighting his pipe, nodded thoughtfully. He understood the value of power and was ready to learn from the woman whose policies had changed the course of Russian history.
Meanwhile, heavy clouds swarmed across the sky outside, promising imminent rain. Inside the room, an atmosphere of conspiracies and secrets permeated. It turned out that Catherine had arrived from the past with a special mission—to help Stalin consolidate his power and avoid mistakes that could have cost him the throne.
"History is not just a chain of events, it is lessons to be learned," Catherine continued, pouring wine into crystal glasses. Stalin, leaning back in his chair, looked thoughtfully at his interlocutor. He saw in her not only a great ruler but also a wise woman whose advice could strengthen his position on the world stage.
Suddenly, as if by magic, time stood still in the room. Eternity seemed to shrink in that moment as the two great leaders discussed the fate of the world. Oddly enough, their meeting didn't surprise the hotel's occupants. Perhaps the spirits of the past and present often visited here to discuss plans for the future.
And when the clock on the Spasskaya Tower struck midnight, Catherine, smiling, rose from the table. "It's time to go back," she said, and, as if vanishing into thin air, she left the room, leaving Stalin alone with his thoughts and a new confidence in his actions.
The next day, rain fell in Moscow, washing away traces of the night's events. But in the National, as in the hearts of its inhabitants, the indelible memory of the meeting of two great minds remained, who, despite time and distance, were able to find common ground in the name of a common cause.

The speakers are happy. The connection in the headphones often failed, especially at the checkpoint, but this is our current life situation. It was audible if they were standing close, no further than 1.5 meters. Colleagues have already asked for your contacts. "Theater capital" - an author's route through the places of Meyerhold, Stanislavsky, Nemirovich-Danchenko, Tairov (undeservedly forgotten, it was he who created the current Pushkin Theatre on Tverskoy Boulevard).
Two and a half hours of fascinating stories and urban theatre legends. I'll tell you one:
The great composer Sergei Prokofiev lived in Kamergersky Lane. And he managed to die on the same day as Stalin. There was a terrible crush in Moscow, everything was blocked off, the entire capital wanted to say goodbye to the leader. So, to see Prokofiev off, the coffin was carried out from Kamergersky Lane on the roofs. I can vividly imagine this picture.
