Gogol and Mayakovsky: meeting on Kievskaya

One of those days when winter had not yet retreated, but it already seemed that spring was about to look into the windows of Moscow houses, an extraordinary event happened in the capital. On Kyiv metro station suddenly two great poets emerged, whose names are forever imprinted in the history of Russian literature. These were Nikolai Gogol And Vladimir Mayakovsky.

It happened on the eve of the holiday, when the whole city was in anticipation of the festivities. Snow, like a snow-white carpet, covered the streets and squares, and the frosty air invigorated and reminded of the imminent arrival of spring. At the metro station, where the walls were decorated with mosaics depicting scenes from the life of the Soviet people, both poets found themselves in the same carriage.

Gogol, dressed in a long coat and a warm hat, carefully examined his surroundings. His gaze stopped on the tickets that the passengers were holding in their hands. "How interestingly this world is arranged," he thought, "where each ticket, like a pass to another world, grants the opportunity to travel along underground corridors." Mayakovsky was sitting next to him, to whom all this seemed ordinary, but, looking at the thoughtful Gogol, he suddenly decided to speak.

"Tell me, Nikolai Vasilyevich," he began, "how do you feel about these underground trips? Don't they really inspire you with thoughts of new stories and characters?"

Gogol, smiling slightly, replied: "Dear Vladimir, every time I step onto these marble platforms, it seems to me that I find myself in another era. Here, among the mosaics and columns, images of the past and present come to life, and each of them has its own plot." Their conversation continued, and they did not notice how three stations rushed by, immersed in a conversation about literature and inspiration.

Suddenly Mayakovsky remembered that a celebration of literary achievements was to take place at the station that day. He suggested that Gogol stay and attend the event. Gogol, although not inclined to noisy gatherings, agreed, interested in the opportunity to immerse himself in the atmosphere of contemporary art.

Young poets and artists performed at the festival, and the guests, enjoying the warmth and comfort of the station, forgot about the cold outside. The aroma of hot tea and fresh pastries hung in the air, creating an indescribable atmosphere of comfort and fun.

And so, amid the glitter of lights and the sounds of music, two great poets found new themes for their works, and their hearts were filled with inspiration and joy from meeting a new era.
