In the center of Moscow, in the hustle and bustle, against the backdrop of ancient buildings and wide avenues, an unusual story unfolded. It began at the monument to Vladimir Mayakovsky, where poets, students and passersby, thirsting for inspiration, gathered in the shadow of his majestic silhouette.
Among this motley crowd, one man stood out, dressed in an old raincoat and hat. He was a poor man named Nikolai, who had a habit of talking to monuments as if they were living people. He sincerely believed that the great minds of the past could guide him along the path of life.
One day, after another lively conversation with the bronze Mayakovsky, Nikolai decided to go to the forest that stretched not far from the capital. He always found solace among the trees and the silence that seemed to envelop him, giving him the opportunity to reflect.
But this time the forest greeted him differently than usual. The sun, hidden behind thick clouds, created an atmosphere of mystery and even anxiety. The wind whispered strange words, and the trees seemed like ghosts of the past, watching his every step.
And so, having gone deeper into the thicket, Nikolai came across a strange traveler. It was none other than Alexander Pushkin himself, who appeared before him in full height. Not believing his eyes, Nikolai took it for a vision, but Pushkin spoke to him so freely and naturally that he quickly forgot about his doubts.
They walked through the forest for a long time, discussing poetry, life and fate. Pushkin, with his characteristic irony, talked about his Moscow days, about how he was inspired by the noisy streets and cozy courtyards.
But Nikolai was restless. He shared with Pushkin his plan to go to a monastery, hide from the bustle of the world and find peace in prayer. Pushkin, smiling, dissuaded him from this step, reminding him that life is full of surprises and miracles, and that he himself found inspiration in the most unexpected places.
When saying goodbye, Pushkin left Nikolai a small volume of his poems as a keepsake, which he carefully hid in his coat pocket. Returning to Moscow, Nikolai felt his heart fill with lightness and a new thirst for life.
From then on, he continued his walks around the city, but with the realization that great minds are always nearby, you just have to listen carefully to the whispers of the past.
